At Alabama Farmers Cooperative (AFC), we are committed to investing in the next generation of agricultural leaders. Our career opportunities, including the John H. & Willodene Mathews and Auburn University Scholarships, Future Leaders Program and Summer Internship Program, are designed for high school seniors, college students and recent graduates who are passionate about agriculture and interested in working in the AFC Co-op system. We are seeking motivated future leaders to join our team. If you enjoy working outdoors, learning about agriculture, and supporting farmers, this entry-level opportunity might be for you. AFC’s Future Leaders Program offers hands-on experience working with growers and producers across the South, helping to build a solid foundation for a career in the agriculture industry. Under the guidance of experienced personnel, participants will develop the skills required for promotion into management or other career opportunities within AFC.

Looking for a paid summer internship in agriculture? AFC is accepting applications for our 2025 Summer Internship Program. This 10-week program offers hands-on experience with growers and producers, allowing interns to gain knowledge of the Co-op system and exposure to the agriculture industry’s latest products, services and technologies.

This one-time $1,500 scholarship is awarded to students attending Auburn University’s College of Agriculture. The AFC Scholarship Committee selects recipients each December for the following Fall semester. You may reapply each year.
Eligibility Requirements:
This scholarship is available to students enrolled in a college or university with a focus on agriculture. Recipients must agree to work for AFC at one of our Member Co-ops for a minimum of two years after graduation. The scholarship covers tuition and fees up to $5,000 per semester, with a total value of approximately $40,000 over four years.
